Replica MG42 machine gun
Thanks to the AGM company, another treat has appeared on the market for fans of historical replicas and fans of the whole current of historical airsoft. The long-awaited replica of the well-known, accepted into arms in 1942 machine gun Maschinengewehr 42 - MG42. A design which, in the hands of the soldiers of the Third Reich (and not only!), spread incredible fear on almost all fronts of the Second World War, and over the years has become almost a cult.
From the very first glance, you can see (and feel) that we are not dealing with a toy, but a solid piece of metal. The dimensions and details of the original have been reproduced as well as possible, and thanks to full-metal construction the weight is also just right - nearly 7kg. Only the pistol grip facings (in line with the flammable prototype) and the magazine ball feeder are made of plastic here.
A uniform zinc-aluminium alloy was used for the construction of the replica's basic components, such as the barrel, external barrel, barrel guard and the cover of the breech chamber. The following are made of steel: the bipod, the magazine, the reloading lever, the magazine attachment cover and a few small parts such as the sight base or the barrel change lever. The entire replica is dexterously finished in matte black, giving a very realistic impression.
The butt of the replica, exactly like in the firearm prototype, is made of natural, lacquered wood. Inside the stock is a space for the battery. The adjustment lever for the Hop-Up system is located under the breech chamber cover. Solid, stal bipod gives the option to lock and fold under the barrel. In the original, the MG42 could also have been used as an anti-aircraft rifle, hence the replica also has a set of mechanical sighting devices allowing adjustment to p-aircraft mode.
To power the airsoft "Hitler's Saw" (that's how the MG42 was sometimes called by the Allies), a dedicated, specially designed and reinforced bipartite gearbox is mounted inside, and in it, among other things, the MG42 is equipped with a bipodal gearbox.in set of steel gears, chrome-plated cylinder, directional, bearing piston head, metal 8mm ball bearings. Plus a long and effective internal barrel of over 600mm. The replica's gearbox features a quick spring change system.
The MG42 is powered by an electrically screw-on BOX magazine, which is a faithful replica of the original. Its housing has been made entirely of steel. The magazine can hold 2500 rounds, and is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included).
