Product description

Replica MG42 machine gun

Thanks to the AGM company, another treat has appeared on the market for fans of historical replicas and fans of the whole current of historical airsoft. The long-awaited replica of the well-known,  accepted into arms in 1942 machine gun Maschinengewehr 42 - MG42. A design which, in the hands of the soldiers of the Third Reich (and not only!), spread incredible fear on almost all fronts of the Second World War, and over the years has become almost a cult.

From the very first glance, you can see (and feel) that we are not dealing with a toy, but a solid piece of metal. The dimensions and details of the original have been reproduced as well as possible, and thanks to full-metal construction the weight is also just right - nearly 7kg. Only the pistol grip facings (in line with the flammable prototype) and the magazine ball feeder are made of plastic here.

A uniform zinc-aluminium alloy was used for the construction of the replica's basic components, such as the barrel, external barrel, barrel guard and the cover of the breech chamber. The following are made of steel: the bipod, the magazine, the reloading lever, the magazine attachment cover and a few small parts such as the sight base or the barrel change lever. The entire replica is dexterously finished in matte black, giving a very realistic impression.

The butt of the replica, exactly like in the firearm prototype, is made of natural, lacquered wood. Inside the stock is a space for the battery. The adjustment lever for the Hop-Up system is located under the breech chamber cover. Solid, stal bipod gives the option to lock and fold under the barrel. In the original, the MG42 could also have been used as an anti-aircraft rifle, hence the replica also has a set of mechanical sighting devices allowing adjustment to p-aircraft mode.

To power the airsoft "Hitler's Saw" (that's how the MG42 was sometimes called by the Allies), a dedicated, specially designed and reinforced bipartite gearbox is mounted inside, and in it, among other things, the MG42 is equipped with a bipodal gearbox.in set of steel gears, chrome-plated cylinder, directional, bearing piston head, metal 8mm ball bearings. Plus a long and effective internal barrel of over 600mm. The replica's gearbox features a quick spring change system.

The MG42 is powered by an electrically screw-on BOX magazine, which is a faithful replica of the original. Its housing has been made entirely of steel. The magazine can hold 2500 rounds, and is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included).

Included are:

- replica
- magazine
- instruction manual

Battery included

NiCd rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory. Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state.
NiMH batteries have a higher self-discharge over time and shorten the life - on the other hand, they earn about 30% more capacity.

Blow Back

Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting.

Weapon arrived damaged, eventually when I tried to mount the Bipod it wouldn't fit either of the slots. They were crushed in from the manufacturer and only glued close with paint. No welding on those. So with a bit of force they could rip off. Internals seemed alright, but gun denied firing from the start. Magazine would feed one or two bb's before it just stopped. Wood stock wouldn't stay locked on and could just fall of. decorative charging handle wouldn't go on without it pushing of the plate that should keep it on the gun. Only a pressfit plate, nothing welded and definately a defective design as the gap was to small. Overall I would only recommend this weapong for those who want to iconic look, allot of maintanance and to those who like a half realistic but arcade like weapon.

cheap metal, cheap stock wood, after putting it it just got loose from the metal part, internals cant say anything, didnt use them, asthetics are good, safety is kinda strange, to engage safety it is a hard button, to realease it is so easy that for sure in game you can realease it without knowing, the metal that holds the magazine just bended over because of bad transport from UPS -_- . overall cheap and like they say, buy cheap and youll regret it

Have wanted one of these since I first saw it at an airsoft show, as with the other reviews there are a few minor niggles, two of the screws on the catches were not fully tightened, and the drum mag mounting requires some attention, out of the box the FPS was 450 so had to swop out the spring to make it site friendly but it is easy enough with the quick change system (2 minutes)it is a well made gun all metal construction and always gets people talking, only problem is finding a gun bag big enough..... lol. Very pleased with the gun.

a must have machine gun for all collectors . rate of fire i would say is fare . accuracy doesn't matter as it will hit its target with the number of bb's it shoots per second . magazine mount needs to be redesigned as it is very loose . bipod could do with a bit of twigging too . maybe i am very critical but this is a good gun and i'm glad i got it . its a real head turner .

This gun is a wonderful talking point, everybody wants a try. At under 7 kilos it weighs only half as much as the real thing so it's much more user friendly than a deactivated original that has been converted although be warned it gets tiring very quickly if you're moving around a lot. It's best suited to staying in one position and providing suppression fire. On that note, the fps was around 415-422 fps, so if you want to use it in games the quick change spring really comes in handy. The rate of fire was decent but with a cheap battery don't expect more than 2-3 hours out of it, it's worth investing in a better quality battery. You will need 4 AA batteries to power the drum mag but it is wired up to the trigger and feeds automatically as you fire and has never missed a beat yet. All round a great quality gun, very good price and built to last. The stock can be a bit loose but is easily tightened up with a hex key

Heavy and beautifull replica. As all chineses replicas, it will need some adjustments. I recommand to downgrade it and to replace the hop up rubber. But you will sure be the center of all attentions on the fields ;)
