Product description

     Specna Arms SA-A05 carbine replica

The Specna Arms brand SA-A05 carbine replica made predominantly of an homogenous alloy of zinc and aluminum with the use of steel elements in the most neuralgic points of the replica ( the screws, the pins and the tactical sling attachment points are made of steel ). The SF type stock which holds the battery and the pistol grip were made of polymer plastic. The replica’s body, the RIS rail set were a subject to the process of anodizing what guaranties a high level of protecting the replica against corrosion. The paintjob of the replica itself was made using the pulverization method after a previous sandblasting of the replica’s surface. This ensures the paint’s higher, than usually, durability against abrasion. The replica’s body beads the USMC markings.

The replica was fitted very well – in a way that it was previously observable only in the G&P or Classic Army class replicas. It was also perfectly balanced. This ensures a perfect maneuverability of the replica while as its weight is almost not felt when you place the replica on the shoulder.

The replica uses a quick main spring exchange system, the so-called Enter & Convert™. This allows for a quick and fluent adaptation of the replica’s power to the conditions of the battlefield without the need of having access to a workshop or a number of specialist tools – when you take the gearbox out the replica’s body, the process of exchanging the main spring takes literally seconds.

The advantages of the Enter & Convert™ system are hard to overestimate. In the light of the laws existing in Europe and which limit the muzzle velocity of the replica and the establishments inside the airsoft society, this system guaranties the user great possibilities and more liberty. The Enter & Convert™ system allows to change the main spring in little amount of time, and, what is followed by this, adapted the muzzle velocity of the replica to the battlefield so it guaranties a perfect compromise between effectiveness of firing and the safety of your own and other players.

The replica was fully adapted to cooperate with LiPo and LiFe type batteries. Thanks to the basic muzzle velocity of about 400 FPS which is guaranteed by the default main spring, the replica is perfect to be used in middle distances. The set also includes an M90 main spring which allows to decrease the muzzle velocity to about 300 FPS making the replica perfectly adapted for short range operations or fighting inside buildings.

The gearbox which is reinforced on the height of the cylinder’s head hides a steel main spring guide which is the element of the Enter & Convert™ system and also 8mm ball bearings and steel thread-wheels which are placed on spacers. The system is secured with the use of four anti-reversals. There is a type 2 cylinder and the steel breaker and a metal hop-up chamber applied in this replica.

The Upgraded Version is equipped with some new, improved internal parts:

- set of reinforced steel gears
- steel spring guide
- lightweight, polymer piston
- aluminum, sealed piston head
- metal cylinder head
- air seal metal nozzle

The replica is equipped with a top 22mm RIS rail, a set of front 22mm RIS rails and an adjustable stock. The top RIS rail holds the flip-up type iron aiming sights which can be easily detached and replaced with any optical-electronic aiming devices. Thanks to the collapsible stock which is ended with a anti-skid stock’s foot, it is possible to adapt the replica’s length to the built and the preferences of the shooter. The default muzzle flash-hider is placed on a 14mm counter-clockwise thread what allows the attachment of a sound suppressor in its place.

In order to increase the realism level, the replica was equipped with a functional bolt catch lever.

The replica set also includes a steel hi-cap type magazine which holds 300 BB pellets.

Specna Arms replicas are compatible with most of the magazines available in the market, for instance with magazines of the following manufacturers:
 - BOYI,
 - Airsoft Systems,
 - SRC,
 - King Arms,
 - MAG,
 - STAR,
 - ACM.

The set does not include the battery nor charger.

The set includes:

- the replica,
- a magazine,
- the iron aiming sights,
- an additional main spring,

Battery included

NiCd rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory. Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state.
NiMH batteries have a higher self-discharge over time and shorten the life - on the other hand, they earn about 30% more capacity.

Blow Back

Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting.

The Specna-Arms SA-A05 CQB Airsoft Replica is an affordable AEG that comes recommended by growing group of Specna-Arms enthusiasts in the airsoft communities. If you've ever served in the military using an AR-15 model gun, you will immediately appreciate the feel of this CQB carbine replica, the moment you unbox it. While I'm unfamiliar with the durability of the airsoft replica versus the real deal, I can confirm that the weight ratio feels fairly spot on (with the absence of the weight of a loaded magazine of course), and all other details, from the trigger to the fire selector are made with great attention to feel as authentic as possible. In other words, for anyone having ever used a real AR-15, this is pure nostalgia shipped in a carton box. The supreme feel of this replica's authentic housing is furthered by small entertaining details. While the gun has no electric blowback (and who really cares when we're talking about an AR-15 anyway, right?), it still allows you to get that feel of cocking and loading the gun, as you pull the loading handle, and the dust-shield drops. The inside of the gear-house looks surprisingly much like the chamber of the real deal, not enough to fool anyone, but for someone like me it makes me wonder if that was an intentional detail. The iron sights that come with the replica are not the best, and I recommend that you use some sort of optical sight, perhaps a red dot, but they work great as an emergency sigh. Alternatively, seeing as they are removable, you can move them to the side of the weapon and use them as alternative sights. Speaking of such applications, the gun is practically plastered with well-made rails, allowing a myriad of applications to be added to the weapon, and you can't help but to feel that the gun is naked and needs to be covered in all sorts of goodies when you first unbox it. That could quickly turn into an expensive obsession. The gun comes with batteries, a charger and a nice looking high-cap steel magazine. I'm not personally a fan of high-cap magazines, but seen from a more objective standpoint, the high-cap magazine allows the buyer to unbox his gun, charge the battery and go directly to join his friends on the battle-field with no extra purchases except for of course what ever mandatory protection is needed. The fact that the magazine is made of metal adds to my growing appreciation of this product. The batteries could have been designed better. The battery that comes with the product is two separate batteries, connected by a cord that is very fragile. The product does come with a guide in both Polish and English that attempts to explain how to insert the battery, but actually fails to do so. The best way to insert the battery, regardless of what the manual states, is to de-attach the removable stock, remove the two stoppers that are located at the front of the stock, and insert the batteries from there, having first attached the cord to the gun's receiver. Doing it the way the manual suggests will lead to the discovery that the battery cord is too short to escape the stock-pocket, and that the cord that connects the two batteries is very likely to get caught by the stock-pole when you try to attach the stock to the gun again, resulting in damage to the batteries. However, once you figure out how to insert the battery, it's conveniently hidden, and the stock works flawlessly. A detail I don't appreciate is the incredibly ugly notch in the flame-suppressor. It's hard to spot on the pictures on the website here, but somewhere on it, the flame suppressor has a strange notch. For me, this isn't the biggest problem in the world as I'll probably attach a suppressor-replica to the gun anyway, but I think people should be aware of this detail. What the purpose of this notch is, I can only speculate as to, but it's clear to me that it's intentional as it's featured on all pictures I've seen of the weapon. Another detail that doesn't please me, is the "Marine" logo. This is another personal preference, but I find it pretentious and weird to carry an insignia associated with a foreign country's military units on my hobby-replica. The gun comes with two springs, and the option to easily replace the spring of the weapon. For people who like to tamper with their guns or do self-repairs, this is probably a major plus. In my country, they have a saying in the airsoft community about the "golden 120 m/s" (translated to those who prefer to work with fps, it's "the golden 400fps"). 400 fps is the "limit" before serious range restrictions are imposed on a weapon, in most of my country. That of course initially left me to wonder, what on earth I was supposed to do with a 310 fps spring, but then I remembered that the gun, after all, was a CQB, and there for designed for close quarters like inside buildings where the range is often very short so I started appreciating the fact that they've given me an option to reduce the power of the weapon to be more accommodating to such locales. When firing the weapon, it's easy to hear if it's firing blanks or if a pellet was shot. The adjustable hop-up is easy to work with, and the gun gives off a nice loud firing noise that could seem realistic if using a suppressor-replica with the gun. I noticed a drop in accuracy when using the automatic fire option, but it's fairly small. While I probably seem very sold and convinced about this weapon in this review, I'm going to assume that Specna Arms makes most of their weapons in the same series, using the same base-design, and with that in mind, I'll actually not recommend this gun. I recommend getting the SA-A07 instead, as it already features the modifcations I would recommend on this weapon. If you're not into suppressors, then this weapon might be for you though.

Though I have not been able to full fiel-test this replica, I will review it based off what I know thusfar. Pros: -Great external build (Minus the stock which feels cheap and wobbles, no issue though) -Great finish including trademarks! -Probably the best prica/quality out there -Feeds Dboys, Specna Arms and WE figh- and midcaps very good.(Don't have other mags to test it with) -Enter and Convert system -Extra spring, always helpfull -Functional bolt catch! This replica is a real champ and makes a very crispy sound when fired. 5/5 easily.

Amazing quality ! looks like VFC, but its not and its a lot cheaper ! But the internal has its flaws :/ the bearing sit very high, so I was forced the drill the holes for the bearings deaper, so the bevel gear could get high enought to make the new SHS 18:1 gen4 gear fit without whining like a angry cat.

- This is a great replica, very good quality / price ratio. Full metal. Easy to change spring. Hop up very easy to adjust. It is an accurate and robust response. It has already fallen, it did not even scratch. The only negative point is the stock. It is cheap and not very well adjusted. In conclusion, I am very surprised by Specna Arms. I didn't know the brand but the replica is very good. Super. - Pour les français : C'est une super réplique, très bon rapport qualité/prix. Tout en métal. Ressort facile à changer. Hop up très facile à régler. Super.

i will follow the coments above, i'm very positive about the replica. I must say that i did not test the replica out of the box but i opend it up 1st thing. I found 1 shim in the box and the gears could use some better shimming, the rubber pad of the stock does not "clik" so with a shake it fals off and i miss the part between the barrel and the rail-system. it's like on the photo's of the tan version. also check all the body and barrel screws, i had a few loose ones that fell out. the body is realy nice and sollid, i have no mag wobble, and the bold catch function is awsome. it's the perfect starting replica and i'm more then happy with it. it still get's a 5 star

Very neat build quality gun, As mentioned, it's full metal, except the grip and the buttstock. Feels very solid. There is one thing about the wobblyness: The magazine that comes with this replics is wobbly, no matter which brand you take, still wobbly. I found a solution though: tape the upper side with some electrical tape and the wobblyness is gone! This replica shoots very accurate and has a pretty good spread, not too wide. For those who need to change the FPS quickly: the Enter & Convert system is very unique and simple and very handy, excellent when you need to replace the spring fast or in the field. Out of the box it shoots at 400 FPS, so people who order this that come from the Netherlands, there's an extra spring included for 350-360 FPS if im not mistaken. In a nutshell: very good and neat build replica, especially for those that just started with airsoft (like myself). Full metal!
