Rock River Arms

Rock River Arms is a company that manufactures firearms, including the popular Rock River Arms LAR-15 rifles. Their offer also includes parts and accessories for the produced guns. The company is located in Colona, Illinois.

The company was founded by brothers Marek and Chuck Larson. Their involvement with gunsmithing dates back to 1981-1991, when they worked in the Springfield Armory. Another place where they gained their knowledge was Les Baer Custom, which they founded together with Les Baer. An important role in their experience was also played by their cooperation with the Coal Valley, where they produced AR-15 rifles for the Eagle Arms. At the same time, i.e. in 1993, they also decided to set up their own business - originally called Tolerance Plus, and later changed to Rock River Arms. Their activity was based on the production of 1911 guns made to order. Later, they expanded their offer with AR-15 rifles. Eventually, they abandoned the M1911 model line and started to only manufacture rifles.

Winning a tender in December 2003 for the purchase of a minimum of 5,000 Rock River Arms LAR-15 rifles by the US government agency Drug Enforcement Administration was a great achievement for the company. All thanks to the success achieved during the endurance tests - the rifle surpassed 100 other arms manufacturers. The contract with the DEA also included supplying weapons to other federal agencies, such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Marshals Service.
