The PDX-SD is a replica characterised not only by its compact dimensions but also by a very interesting, aggressive design. The model shown features a built-in ETU Gate ASTER SX module

The Maxim Defense PDX-SD is constructed primarily from aluminium and polymer.
The following components are primarily made of steel :
- QD mounting socket, bolt catch, fire selector, ejection port cover, dummy bolt carrier, lock and stock guide
The following are made of aluminium:
- The dummy silencer, the M-LOK handguard with the top RIS rail, the hand-stop grip, the receiver, the rear RIS rail, the reloading levers and the stock.
Made from durable polymer :
- The ergonomic pistol grip (licensed by BCM) and the magazine.
Importantly, the cables in this replica are routed to the front. The connector, along with the battery compartment, is located within the dummy silencer.
During testing of the replica, a 1-cell battery measuring 115x15x15 mm was used
