The Primal Gear AC-1 Lightweight vest
The lightweight and low-profile AC-1 is a comfortable alternative to plate carrier waistcoats. The idea behind the design of the AC-1 was to maximise the weight and size of the waistcoat. For this purpose, the fabric cummerbands have been replaced with elastic webbing with six pockets for additional equipment and molle webbing on plate bags has been dispensed with.
In order to retrofit the waistcoat, the manufacturer has added a Hook-and-loop elastic bandolier accommodating five magazines and a cargo pocket. In addition, the model has been equipped with two fastex buckles allowing the attachment of a buckle-up module.
The interior of the waistcoat has been covered with calico mesh to increase comfort and ventilation. The front and rear plate bags have been fitted with a Velcro panel for patches.
