The Specna Arms SA-F04 FLEX Gen.2 is an electric airsoft replica based on the M4/M16 platform, equipped with a programmable HAL ETU and a Specna Arms Dark Matter High Speed 27–35k brushless motor, among other features.
The FLEX Gen.2 series was developed to provide players with replicas combining good performance, functionality, and an attractive price. The construction solutions are designed to deliver reliable operation and comfortable handling during airsoft games.
External Construction
The replica features a nylon receiver and a 6" M-LOK handguard. The pistol grip, buffer tube, adjustable stock with a rubber buttpad, and mechanical sights are also made of nylon.
Aluminum components include the muzzle device, outer barrel, controls, and charging handle. The replica is equipped with an ambidextrous fire selector and magazine release, as well as a functional bolt catch.
The pins, screws, and QD sling mounts are made of steel.
Hop-Up and Internal Components
The replica features a rotary TDC Magnus™ Hop-Up chamber (Top Down Center), allowing precise and stable adjustment of BB backspin. The chamber design is covered by European protection right number 015052069-0001.
The chamber works with a Helium™ Flat Hop Hop-Up bucking, designed to help provide consistent BB backspin.
The replica also features a sealed aluminum nozzle and a 6.03 mm inner barrel.
Additional internal components include:
8 mm bushings
Steel gears
Polycarbonate piston with a full steel tooth rack
Specna Arms Dark Matter™ High Speed 27–35k brushless motor
Æther™ Gearbox and ESA™ System
The replica is equipped with a reinforced Æther™ gearbox shell, whose design is covered by European protection right number 015044865-0001.
The shell features the following solutions:
Main spring tension release function
Pre-cocking and AoE inspection windows
Reinforced front section of the shell
Inspection windows facilitating gear shimming
Trigger adjustment capability
Screw holes allowing precise alignment of the gearbox shell
Construction designed to accommodate springs up to M140
The ESA™ quick-change spring system makes it easier to adjust the replica's muzzle energy to game requirements without disassembling the entire gearbox.
Programmable HAL™ ETU
The HAL™ electronic unit uses magnetic sensors based on the Hall effect to detect trigger movement. It allows users to adjust the replica's operating characteristics to their preferences.
HAL™ features:
Hall-effect magnetic trigger detection
Active motor braking
Binary Trigger mode
Adjustable trigger sensitivity – 5 levels (20–100%)
Adjustable pre-cocking – 6 levels
Programmable AUTO modes: Full Auto, Semi, 3-Round Burst, 5-Round Burst
Programmable SEMI modes: Semi, Binary, AUG, Sniper
Trigger-based programming
Low battery warning
Compatibility with brushless motors
Dark Matter™ BLDC Brushless Motor
The replica is equipped with a Specna Arms Dark Matter™ High Speed 27–35k brushless motor.
BLDC (Brushless Direct Current) technology eliminates traditional motor brushes, reducing wear on components responsible for current commutation.
Key advantages of the BLDC motor:
No brush sparking
Reduced mechanical wear due to the absence of brushes
High energy efficiency
Stable performance at high rotational speeds
Reduced heat generation
High torque
Fast trigger response
Ability to work with stronger springs when the drivetrain is appropriately configured
