Specna Arms MG42 RETRO AEG machine gun (X-ASR/Tracer)
The Specna Arms: Retro range was developed in collaboration with S&T/AGM. It is a series of classic historical replicas, designed for enthusiasts of iconic designs from past decades. Models in this range faithfully replicate the appearance of the original weapons, making them ideal for historical re-enactments and an excellent choice for enthusiasts of historical firearm replicas.
The German MG42 machine gun undoubtedly rained down not only thousands of rounds, but also – and perhaps above all – fear. Hitler’s Saw – as the Allies dubhandguard the MG42 – was capable of firing around 1,200 rounds per minute, giving the user overwhelming firepower.
Interestingly, the design was developed at the Großfuß factory, which, prior to beginning work on the machine gun, had specialised in the production of industrial metal goods rather than conventional weapons. Their experience in mass metalworking enabled them to create a weapon that was simple, cheap to produce and extremely effective.
The tracer included in the set allows for the illumination of fluorescent BBs and the simulation of a muzzle flash, which enhances the appeal of gameplay. This looks particularly impressive during night-time games. The set also includes a USB-C cable for charging the device.
The top-quality X-ASR MOSFET ensures the safety of the replica’s components, improves trigger response and extends the service life of the electronics and battery, whilst also allowing basic faults within the replica to be diagnosed thanks to the built-in indicator LEDs.
Inside the replica, you will find, among other things:
- A sealed aluminum nozzle
- A steel cylinder
- A piston with steel teeth
- Steel bushings
- Steel gears
The MG42 RETRO from Specna Arms is an airsoft gun of the MG42. The user’s task is simple – find a position with a good field of fire and then shoot. Shoot until you run out of ammunition, quickly change the magazine, and then continue firing. It is not a rifle designed for CQB, if only because of the model’s weight and length, but why not give it a go?
The model is made mainly from metal (aluminium and steel), polymer and wood.
Aluminium: Muzzle device, outer barrel, barrel shroud, bolt cover, receiver.
Steel: Muzzle device lock, side lock for the barrel replacement opening (a purely visual feature; it is not possible to remove the outer barrel through this opening), all screws, pins, magazine, magazine catch, dummy reloading handle, bipod.
Package include:
- Bipod
- GATE X-ASR Diagnostics Card
- Magazine
- Replica
Package exclude:
- The set does not include the battery nor charger
Battery included![]() NiCd
rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency
current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory.
Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended
to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery
immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state. | No |
Blow Back![]() Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting. | No |
