Lithium-ion-polymer(LiPo) packs are the successors to the well-known lithium-ion (LiIon) packs. The main advantage of LiPo batteries is undoubtedly the capacity-to-size ratio. They are very small in size while retaining a very high current capacity, which makes it possible to select a suitable pack for practically every AEG replica. They have no memory effect. They can be charged very frequently without being discharged first. Frequent charging is beneficial for this type of battery.

It is important to remember not to discharge a LiPo pack below 3V per cell and not to overcharge it above 4.2V per cell. Another advantage of LiPo packs is the low percentage self-discharge. To keep LiPo batteries in good condition, they should be balanced during charging using the service plug that most LiPo packs have (a good LiPo charger has a built-in balancer).
