The replica carbine DD MK18 MOD I (B.R.S.S.) produced by the Taiwanese company BOLT Airsoft is undoubtedly a powerful step forward in the evolution of AEG replicas. Thanks to the innovative solutions used, it has finally become possible to bring the experience felt by the user of an AEG-type replica closer to that offered by GBBR-type replicas - so, in short, BOLT Airsoft has created a carbine replica that really "kicks" as it should.
Thanks to the licence from Daniel Defence we can enjoy the full markings of the flammable counterpart - the original markings are placed on the body and the front 22mm RIS rail.
The replica was made from high-grade materials and with the utmost attention to detail. All metal elements were manufactured in aluminium. In addition, some components have been made from steel. These include the flame suppressor, the magazine and the flask mounting ring. The fit of the components does not raise any objections. We will not experience any play here, especially between the upper and lower halves of the barrel, which are also typical in replicas from the so-called "top shelf". Another interesting procedure is to give the replica a non-uniform colour scheme. Instead of the deep black often found in replicas, we are dealing here with several shades of black and the steel colour of the barrel and many small parts. This brings the look of the replica closer to the original, giving it a more realistic appearance. This effect is further enhanced by the use of paint to cover the replica, giving the surface a slightly grainy texture effect.
The replica is fitted with a multi-position, telescopic SF-type buttstock - with thick rubber feet and holes for attaching a tactical QD suspension. There is a 22mm RIS rail on the back of the barrel to allow the mounting of additional accessories. The ergonomic front grip is made of polymer, as is the pistol grip. The whole is topped off with a steel flame suppressor. The set includes a Hi-Cap type magazine holding 300 pellets.
The biggest advantage of this replica is undoubtedly the srecoil and breech work simulation system. It consists of two independent components: a standard imitation of the breech action known from most EBB-type replicas and a separate system mounted inside the flask guide. This system consists of a spring, an inertia and a system transferring energy from the piston to the inertia. The sensations offered by the use of this solution are incomparable to anything offered so far by manufacturers of serial AEG replicas. It is important to note that, despite some design differences forced by the use of the Blow Back system, the replica is largely compliant with the v.2 standard established by TM. The only significant difference is really only the piston with its characteristic notch. However, it is equipped with a number of metal teeth, which guarantees its considerable durability. The compatibility of the other parts of the gearbox guarantees easy tuning of the replica, as well as easy access to spare and service parts should the need arise. High-quality Hop-Up chamber combined with precision barrel 6.01mm guarantees excellent performance despite the short barrel - ideally for CQB.
Note: the kit does not include a battery or charger.
.Package include:
- Magazine
- Vertical Grip
Battery included![]() NiCd
rechargeable battery is characterized by high efficiency
current-carrying capacity, but there are disruptive effect on memory.
Should be unloaded and loaded in the full cycle, ie, it is recommended
to fully discharge, and after unloading must charge the battery
immediately without leaving it for a long time in a discharged state. | No |
Blow Back![]() Blow back is a simulation system of the cocking lever - it imitates the work of it as the equivalent sharp. This system raises the realism and adds a lot more experience during shooting. | Yes |

Muzzle velocity [FPS]![]() It is the spped of bb, while its leaving the innerbarrel of replica. This speed is measured in FPS (Feet Per Second). 1 FPS = 0,3 m/s 1 J = 99 m/s 1 J = 326,7 FPS | 390 |
Fire mode | Full-auto Semi-auto |
Gearbox version![]() Indications v2, v3, v6 does not mean the level of advance, but only shape of gearbox skeleton which was used and selected by the manufacturer depending on the capabilities of the body of the replica. For example, a models of the M4/M16 family, MP5, have a v2 gearbox, while the AK family have gearbox v3. | Gearbox v2 |
Hop-Up![]() Hop-Up system is used for overclocking bb during the shot (putting it in rotation), through which, it extends its flight path. Acting laws of physics make that bb lift up, while the gravitational force take it down. Appropriate adjustment of Hop-Up, will compensate for these two factors, which result in long and straight flight for longer distance and be greater focus shot (to improve accuracy). | Yes |
