Review of the Primal Gear Tactical Belt Set - The Gunslinger

For decades, tactical belts have been the primary equipment platform. With the dissemination of tactical vests and chest rigs, their dominant role has changed to a supporting one. The main goal of all modern tactical belts is to carry key equipment elements and short firearms. The most desired features include high ergonomics and a low profile. The Gunslinger set works perfectly with chest rigs and tactical vests.

Modular Tactical Belt Mosaur

The modular Mosaur tactical belt is the basis of the set - a tried and tested two-module design, consisting of an inner belt to which the outer main belt is attached throughout its length, effectively stabilizing it in one place. By reducing the PALS webbing by half, the belt does not overwhelm with its volume and retains the ergonomics of a regular belt. The belt adjustment system is extensive, allowing adjustment from size S to L. The Cobra buckle is a great feature - reliable and quick to fasten. Additionally, on the female side of the buckle, there is a D-ring to which an evacuation lanyard or carabiner can be attached.

Veloci x Sucod mag pouches

The set includes double Veloci magazine pouches for short firearms and Sucod for long firearms (default for calibers 9x19mm and 5.56x45mm), mounted on the belt. Both models are fully open, filled with a polymer insert that securely holds the magazine in place. These two solutions allow for easy removal of the loading device and its proper storage. From a tactical point of view, this is an important feature that allows for quick recovery of the replaced magazine with remaining ammunition.

Parax x Bulik Utility Pouches

The set also includes a dump bag and a universal Paras utility pouch. The drop bag has an elevated profile, making it easily accessible. The mounting structure is designed for mainly looped belts, so it does not weaken the belt's fastening. The bag can hold up to four long firearm magazines. The last element is the universal Paras utility pouch. It utilizes additional space for inserts - one for a short and one for a long firearm magazine. The space is fully open, making it easily accessible. Behind the utility pouches are two organizers separated by a compartment with a flap. Their capacity allows for carrying specialist equipment of small and medium sizes. The space behind the utility pouches can also serve as a handy first aid kit for medical inserts.

The Gunslinger from Primal Gear - is it worth it?

The Gunslinger set is an excellent option for individual use during dynamic, short-term skirmishes, and training sessions. Combined with a chest rig or tactical vest, it is an excellent complement to these platforms. The set ultimately leaves room for individual adaptation to short firearms. Finally, it is worth mentioning the materials used, which are very durable. The Multicam set is made of original 500D Cordura, and the Olive color is made of Aspen's proprietary material.
